Gino Ceccarelli was born in the Amazon in 1960. He studied at the Regional School of Fine Arts of Iquitos, followed his courses at the National Gino ceccarelli’s work is located in the wave of multiculturalism that has embraced contemporary arts since the 80’s. But his position is not centered on one aspect of the artistic activity, instead it fins roots in his personal biography. He was born in the vast geopolitical region which is the Amazon. He was reared in Lima, but has Italian origins, lives between France and Latin America.

His world seems to center around a complexity of abrupt dualities, in which painting is the bridge and the intermediary: the real messenger of the gods.

His work appears then like a stage: an space for the representation. The black background is silent. Not dark or somber, but loaded with mystery and resonance. Ceccarelli adds the technique and the influences of the ancient Italian masters to the representation of mythical figures from Amazon region.
